The player spent his youth career with several Dutch clubs and made his senior debut at Vitesse in the Eredivisie in 2008. After 9 years at Vitesse, he moved to PSV. He featured for the PSV first team and reserve team, but his chances were really limited with PSV, which forced a move to MLS side Columbus Crew.
The player won the MLS Cup with the Columbus Crew in 2020 as the team's starting goalkeeper in the final. Spell at the Columbus Crew was one of the brightest in his playing career before returning to Vitesse in 2023. In the 2023-24 season, he featured for Vitesse, and after one season, the player moved to a Belgian club, Cercle Brugge. In the summer of 2025, he joined FC Miami City, which is a fourth division club in the US soccer league system.
