Spurs Begins their Preseason Tour
Tottenham Hotspur has already begun its preparations for the 2026-27 season, with Roberto De Zerbi's side opening pre-season with a 1-0 victory over MK Dons in a behind-closed-doors friendly. Summer signings Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes both made their unofficial debuts for the club against MK Dons, with Fernandes marking his first appearance by scoring the match-winning goal.
Spurs will now turn their attention to a five-match pre-season schedule across New Zealand, Australia, and England, where De Zerbi is expected to continue integrating his new signings while building match fitness ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League campaign. The tour will also give supporters an early glimpse of several first-team stars and academy prospects as more players return from their post-World Cup break.

Players Missing the Tour
Several first-team players will miss the opening stages of Tottenham Hotspur's pre-season preparations for various reasons, with Roberto De Zerbi set to begin the tour without a number of senior squad members.
Injury and Fitness Concerns
Mohamed Kudus, Xavi Simons, Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert, and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario are unavailable due to injury and fitness issues, with Vicario currently managing a minor knock. The club is expected to carefully manage its recoveries ahead of the new Premier League season.
Extended World Cup Leave
Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr, Pedro Porro, Marcos Senesi, Cristian Romero, and Djed Spence have been granted additional time off following their involvement in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The six players are expected to rejoin the squad later in the summer as Tottenham continue their preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.
