Tottenham Reach Agreement for Mateus Fernandes
Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have reached an agreement in principle over the transfer of Portuguese midfielder Mateus Fernandes, who is set to join Roberto De Zerbi's Tottenham, Reports David Ornstein
Spurs will pay £85 million in order to sign Matues Fernandez from the East London club, which makes him the most expensive player in the history of Spurs.
Manchester United Miss Out
Manchester United was also in the discussion to sign Matues Fernandes in the summer, but Manchester United's total package, including add-ons, fell short of West Ham's valuation.
United didn’t withdraw their interest till the last minute and negotiated to lower the transfer fee, but Matheus Fernandes is attracted to the new project at Spurs by De Zerbi, which made the deal difficult for the Reds.
