Real Madrid Move Quickly for Cucurella
Real Madrid continued their aggressive recruitment drive by completing another deal with remarkable speed. Los Blancos have agreed to a deal to sign Marc Cucurella from Premier League giants Chelsea in the summer for a fee over €50 million, reports Fabrizio Romano.
Earlier reports suggested that the new Real Madrid manager is not convinced with left backs in the team, including Fran García, Ferland Mendy, and Álvaro Carreras, which led Real Madrid to address the market to sign a left back and secure an agreement to sign Cucurella.
Cucurella was previously linked with Spanish clubs Barcelona and Atlético Madrid. Several rounds of discussions already happened with the player's agent and the team's representatives but failed to reach an agreement with Cucurella and Chelsea.
Successful Spell in Chelsea
Cucurella joined Chelsea in 2022 from Brighton for a transfer fee of €65 million. The Spanish interaction had a successful 4-year spell at Chelsea with a Club World Cup triumph in 2025. The player rose from a normal fullback to one of the best defensive fullbacks in the world with his monumental performances against dangerous forwards in the world.
Mourinho Prioritizes Defensive Reinforcements
Signing Marc Cucurella is definitely a massive upgrade in Real Madrid's defense considering the team's defensive performance in the recent season.
