Liverpool Miss Out on Diomande
Liverpool have suffered a setback in their pursuit of Yan Diomande after the RB Leipzig winger chose Paris Saint-Germain as his preferred destination, according to David Ornstein.
As per David Ornstein, the 19-year-old player rejected strong interest from Liverpool and chose Paris Saint-Germain as his next destination for his career if he leaves in the summer. Liverpool was willing to submit a bid of €100 million, but RB Leipzig demanded an offer close to €130 million for the Ivorian winger.
PSG Wins the Race
The teenager has a contract until 2030 with the German club, and they wish to keep the player for another year on the team, but PSG will be desperate to bring him to Parc des Princes this summer to reinforce the attack, as they are anticipating the departure of Bradley Barcola from the wings.
The player's representatives conducted several rounds of discussions with both PSG and Liverpool and decided to accept the terms put forth by the defending European champions. Yan Diomande is the priority target for Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Luis Campos in the summer to compete for a hat trick of European titles.

The player signed for RB Leipzig last summer from Leganés for €20 million and is now preparing to become the biggest sale in Leipzig's history. Diamonde’s graph rose rapidly in Germany with his exceptional quality on the wings; he completed more dribbles than anyone else in the Bundesliga with the highest success rate in the league. The ability to play in either wing with the same explosiveness of pace and dribbling makes him a unique player in the market.
World Cup Performances Raise His Stock
Diamonde also impressed on the World Cup stage with an excellent performance and an assist for the team. He played a vital role in the Ivory Coast team that qualified for the round of 32 in the tournament from a group with Germany, Ecuador, and Curacao. Diamonde and his team will face Norway in the round of 32 match.
PSG still need to reach an agreement with RB Leipzig. However, Diomande's decision gives the French champions a significant advantage over Liverpool in the competition for one of Europe's most exciting young wingers.
