PSG's Zion Suzuki deal collapses at the final stage

Paris Saint-Germain's deal with Parma to sign Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki has collapsed after the player's agents demanded increased commission in the final minutes of the deal, according to Fabrice Hawkins. The demand of agents displeased the management of Parisians, which led to the call-off of the deal despite having an agreement with the player's club.

The collapse of the PSG deal has also affected Juventus' plans. The Italian club had been exploring the possibility of taking Suzuki on loan from PSG, but that option is no longer available. Juventus have therefore returned to talks over Martínez as they look for a solution in goal.

Aston Villa move quickly for Suzuki

With Emiliano Martínez potentially heading for the exit, Suzuki could give Aston Villa a younger option to build around. The Japanese goalkeeper has already gained valuable experience in European football and could fit Emery's approach with his ability on the ball as well as his shot-stopping. If Martínez does leave, Suzuki could have the opportunity to establish himself as Villa's long-term No. 1.

As both player and club are keen on the move, the deal is expected to be finalized in the coming hours.
