Nottingham Forest are in direct talks with Crystal Palace over a move for Daniel Muñoz, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the clubs are working towards an agreement before the transfer deadline. The forest has already seen a £22 million offer rejected, but negotiations remain active, and the Colombian is reportedly keen on reuniting with former Palace manager Oliver Glasner.
Glasner wants reunion with Colombian Wingback
Glasner has personally spoken to the Colombian international to convince him to move, and Crystal Palace is open to selling the player if their valuation is met following the arrival of Israeli right wingback Anan Khalaili. Munoz was a critical part of Glasner's Crystal Palace side that won the FA Cup and UEFA Conference League in the recent seasons, so if they could bring Munoz to the club, it would be a huge boost for Forest in terms of quality.
Muñoz would be particularly suited to Glasner's system because of his experience operating as an attacking wing-back. His ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch could give Forest another outlet in transition while maintaining the intensity required by Glasner's tactical approach.
Both clubs are in active talks to find a solution before the deadline day, as his contract is set to expire next summer; also, Munoz was not featured in the last Premier League game against Manchester City at Selhurst Park, where they lost 4-1.
Everton also monitoring the situation
TEAMtalks reported that Everton is also interested in signing the player; his preferred destination remains Nottingham Forest.
