Newcastle United are preparing for a challenging season under German manager Mathias Jaissle, who has taken charge following Eddie Howe’s departure.

With a new tactical approach and a demanding season ahead, Newcastle will need to manage their squad carefully. Here is a look at the club’s current injury list and the latest updates on when each player could return.

Joelinton

Injury: Muscle issue  Status: Returning to training Expected return: Leeds United, September - 14

Joelinton sustained a muscle problem before the preseason friendly against Bayer Leverkusen in August.

"Joelinton is out for a couple of weeks. I am really confident that he will be back as soon as possible," the manager stated officially. Joelinton's absence would be a significant blow to Newcastle's midfield, particularly after the departures of Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimarães.

Tino Livramento

Injury: Muscle issue  Status: Returning to training Expected return: To be Confirmed

He suffered a calf injury during the training camp with the English national team ahead of the World Cup, and Tuchel was forced to withdraw him from the squad; he underwent minor surgery on his calf in June and started partial training with the group ahead of the Premier League opener.

However, Mathias Jaissle confirmed that it is too early to provide an update on Tino. The player needs to gain match fitness gradually to feature in the Premier League games.

Following his absence, new arrival Amar Dedic could start in the right-back role for the Magpies. His injury will be a concerning factor for the team during the starting weeks, as he is the only right back on the team with Premier League experience after the departure of Trippier
