Manchester City are preparing for a fresh start in the 2026-27 season under new manager Enzo Maresca to regain their Premier League title after two difficult seasons in the league.
Manchester City currently has a short injury list, with Jeremy Doku the only player reported to be sidelined ahead of the opening Premier League fixtures.
Jeremy Doku
Injury: Calf Injury Status: Injured Expected return: Coventry City, September - 5
The Belgian winger sustained a calf injury against Arsenal in the Community Shield final, which will rule him out for the opening weeks of the Premier League
At the moment, the only one out is Jeremy Doku. Unfortunately in the last game, at halftime, he was complaining about a little bit of pain in his calf," Maresca told the press.
He also confirmed that Doku could miss up to 3 weeks due to the injury.
His expected return is against Coventry City on match week 3 at Etihad Stadium
Doku is currently City's only injury concern, so Maresca will hope the winger can return without any setbacks. If his recovery goes as planned, City could have a largely healthy squad available by the time they face Coventry in September.
