Enzo Fernández considering Chelsea exit

Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández wants to leave Chelsea this summer after a campaign disrupted by managerial instability and inconsistent Premier League performances.

Chelsea is keen to keep the player whose contract runs until June 30, 2032, but will consider a transfer if the player pushes for a new challenge; however, Chelsea will demand a club-record fee of £120 million to approve the transfer, as per Ben Jacobs.

Enzo Fernández joined Chelsea following an impressive, triumphant campaign in the 2022 World Cup with the Argentine national team for a British record fee and became a key part of the long-term project under BlueCo ownership.

He played a key role in Chelsea's triumph in the UEFA Conference League and the inaugural edition of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Enzo frustrated with current Chelsea situation

The Argentine is frustrated with the current situation at Chelsea following several setbacks and instability under BlueCo ownership recently.

The player was also part of several controversies at Chelsea, including criticism over chants against French players during the Copa América title celebration and public comments expressing admiration for Real Madrid, which reportedly contributed to tensions around the player; later, it led to the suspension of the player in two matches under Liam Rosiner.

Real Madrid emerge as preferred destination

Enzo is keen on a move to Real Madrid in the summer, which the player has openly described as his dream destination, as he expressed publicly in interviews, but Real Madrid will reconsider the interest in the player after the elections and managerial appointment.

Internally, Real Madrid have a dilemma on whether to sign a midfielder like Enzo Fernández or go for a more defensively solid midfielder.

Chelsea open to sale under one condition

With no European football on offer at Chelsea next season, Enzo reportedly wants a new challenge with stronger Champions League ambitions, but Chelsea are unlikely to approve a transfer unless it becomes a record-breaking sale for the club.

Real Madrid is the preferred destination for the player, but the final decision of Los Blancos will be affected by presidential election results and managerial approval.
