  • Brentford injury news: Get the latest updates on Fabio Carvalho, Antoni Milambo and Sepp van den Berg, including their expected return dates.

Brentford enjoyed an impressive 2025-26 campaign, finishing ninth with 53 points

They head into the 2026-27 Premier League season with European football in their sights, but Keith Andrews will have to manage several injury concerns within his squad.

Here is the latest Brentford injury news, including the players currently sidelined, their injuries, and expected return dates.

Fabio Carvalho

Injury: Cruciate ligament tear  Status: Returning to training Expected return: Leeds United, August 30

The Portuguese forward tore his ligament in November last year, which ruled him out for the entire 2025-26 season just after making 6 appearances in the Premier League. He already started training with Brentford's B team and participated in closed-door friendly matches for them as a part of preparation for the new season.

He is targeting a return against Leeds in the second matchweek after spending preseason with the B team.

Antoni Milambo

Injury: ACL—left knee Status: Returning to training Expected return: to be confirmed

The player suffered a serious ACL injury while facing Bosnia and Herzegovina during a Euro U21 qualifier, playing for the Netherlands U21 team in October last year.

He has returned to training with the team but is not expected to feature in opening match weeks, as he is undergoing a tailored training program to rebuild his fitness. The medical staff expects him to gradually ramp up to full-contact squad sessions.

Sepp van den Berg

Injury: Undisclosed Status: Injured Expected return: Three months

The 24-year-old Dutch center back suffered an undisclosed injury in July and is expected to keep him out for around three months.

What Brentford's Injury List Means for the Season

Brentford have a few injury concerns heading into the new season, but there are positive signs with Carvalho and Milambo both back in training. Carvalho appears closest to a return, while Milambo is likely to need more time before he is ready for competitive action. Van den Berg faces a longer spell on the sidelines, leaving Brentford with another defensive concern to manage in the opening months of the season.
