Brazil Provide Neymar Injury Update
The Brazilian Football Federation has given a major update on Neymar's muscle injury.
The federation stated that “Player Neymar" underwent an MRI this Monday. The exam showed good progress in his treatment, within the expected parameters. He will continue the recovery and physical preparation process planned by the Brazilian National Team’s medical staff.”
As per the statement, there is considerable progress in Neymar's treatment, but still there is no confirmation regarding the availability of the player for the opening match against Morocco.
Neymar Set to Miss Final Friendlies
Due to the grade-two muscle tear sustained in the Brazilian Serie A while playing against Coritiba, Neymar is ruled out for friendly matches against Panama and Egypt prior to the World Cup.
After the injury, team doctors of Santos diagnosed the problem only as swelling, but detailed medical examinations under Brazil's national team doctors identified the injury as a grade two muscle tear.
Ancelotti Refuses to Give Up Hope
Ancelotti has publicly expressed that he will not rule Neymar out of the World Cup in any scenario and will play him whenever he is physically fit for the game.
With just days remaining before Brazil's World Cup opener against Morocco on June 13 at 22:00 UTC, Neymar remains in a race against time. The Seleção remains optimistic, but the final decision on his availability will depend on how he responds to the next phase of his recovery program.
